  1. 1. I only agree with the death penalty if they are 100% sure that the person was the one who committed the crime.

    2. Now reading this article it makes me realize how many people are dying for something they didn't. Knowing this I now think that the death penalty should be illegal, and people that convicted murders or a crime that is usually countered with the death penalty, should just get life in prison.

    1. I agree with Bruno that the death penalty is wrong to unknowingly put people on death penalty without a chance to prove innocence or just get a lower sentencing like life in prison. In which case the person will learn from their mistakes instead of taking the "easy way out" and receiving the death penalty.

    4. I agree with you on the first question asked that they should use the penalty if the person is the one that committed the crime, but I think the death penalty should stay legal reserved for the criminals who really did do the worst crimes out of others.

    5. I agree with you Bruno, because it should be illegal because lots of people are dying because the other people don't want to go to jail for the crime that they did.

  2. 1 I feel the death penalty is wrong, it wrongfully puts innocent people to death and 120 out of 3,000 people who were innocent where put on death penalty last year. I believe it is corrupt, and that people should not have the power to kill others for their actions.

2 This article changes my view on the death penalty because I know realize how some systems currently going on in the US, like the death penalty, are unjust and how the death penalty can wrongfully kill citizens who give their all to their country.

  5. 1) I do not believe in death penalty because the prisoner might be innocent or the crime they committed was minor, compared to the rest.

    2) This article only gave me more reason to disapprove of the death penalty. More innocent people are dying because of this than first expected. Not only that, but it is better for those people that did commit those crimes to live the rest of their lives in prison than 'taking the easy way out'.

  7. I don't believe in death penalty because even tho those people killed somebody you don't know there basis to why they did it, also if they did kill someone just because they should just be put in jail because i believe that the time they serve there might make them regret what they did. I also don't believe in it because like the article said a lot of innocent people are dying and not the actual once who deserve it, that means were only having more criminals in the streets and everywhere. This article affects my view of death penalty because I think they shouldn't need to kill anyone only if they really have to and they know its that person, because now a days if they blame you, they blame you and they think you did it so you gotta pay, and I say death penalty only when they really have to.

  8. 1. I don't agree with death penalty at all. Yes the prisoners might be guilty of the murders they commit but the people in prison have no right to taking away a man's life. If what they want is to make the prisoners life miserable it would be a better idea to have them at prison for the rest of their life. Sometimes they end up killing people with the death penalty who might not even be guilty. Everyone makes mistakes, but death is too extreme of a consequence. 120 out of 3,000 people who were innocent where put on death penalty last year.

    2. This article changes my view on death penalty because it makes me see how unfair prisons are and how many people die who don't deserve to. If the US sends people to jail for murdering, shouldn't they go to jail too, they're murdering prisoners? No matter how much they may deserve it, it's not right. This article made me be more aware of how they're hypocrites, they are murdering people too.

  13. 1) I still do believe in the death penalty because there are lots of people that have done too many mistakes that they chose to do on their own. The death penalty is the most guaranteed way to make sure that same person won't kill or pull off anything that is life threatening to more people.

    2) Article does somewhat persuade me to think about the other perspective but I needed more evidence in order to persuade me that the death penalty is not a way to punish criminals. 15. 1) I do believe in the death penalty, but, only for someone that is guilty of a truly horrid crime that does not involve any kind decent seeming motive because they are a true danger to all those around them and possibly cannot be reformed with a taste for doing such terrible things. I don't think that a wife who murders her husband after being beaten by him for years should get the death penalty, but, someone who murders or drowns their own children or commits a mass murder for no apparent reason should.

    2) The article does not really affect my view on the death penalty because I already knew that many innocent people have been sentenced to it, however, it does change my views on the justice system with how inefficient the article makes it out to be.

  16. 1. I don't agree with the death penalty. Some people that don't do anything wrong and are practically innocent are killed. If they don't know if the person is guilty or innocent they shouldn't just assume something they don't know.

  17. 1) I used to but now I definitely do not believe in the death penalty no matter how much the person is guilty. Looking at the statistics, a lot of innocent people are dying. I didn't know that innocent people got killed in the process. Even if they are guilty nobody deserves to die. They should just be kept in jail forever.
    2) This article affects my view on the death penalty because before reading this I did think the death penalty was a good idea but know that I have read it, I don't think it is a good idea. If the death penalty is killing innocent people, I don't think the death penalty should even exist.

  18. 1) I do not believe in the death penalty because many innocent people are dying and also it just better to let them live in prison instead of killing them. Killing them would just be better for them because they are finally out of this world.

    2) This article affected my point of view in the death penalty because I always thought that the dangerous criminals get it. I never thought that the system was corrupt that they would put innocent people to death. This shows how corrupt this death sentence is, and I now think it should be fixed before more innocent lives are taken by this sentence.

  22. I do not believe in this so-called "Death Penalty" for a matter of reasons. I, for one, do not favor it as well. The Death Penalty is something that was supposed to remove the suspects that were guilty of murders, attacks, etc. Now, by what this article has commented/researched, it seems as the Death Penalty is doing more harm than good. More innocent are being "put to rest" than the actual assailants themselves. Also, this method of ridding of assailants is costing us both cargo-loads of money and chests of innocent lives. If i had a say who the real killer is, i would say the death penalty is to blame.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 1. I would only agree with the death penalty, if the suspect was completely proven to be the the who committed the crime.
    2. After reading this article my perspective changed because it gave me statistics of how many people were put to death for a crime they were not involved with. 24. 1.I do not believe in the death penalty because no matter how mad the crime they did was people shouldn't be killed. I think they should pay for the crime they did by going to prison and suffering the consequences. I also think that nobody has the right to sentence other people to death and doing that it is just as bad as what the criminal being sentenced to die did. This article tells us that people are sentenced to the death penalty when they are actually not guilty. This is very wrong because you never know if the person is insistent and is going to die for committing a crime they didn't actually do.

Is the system really trust worthy? Can we trust the system even when innocent people are dying for crimes committed by others. In respect my opinion is that when you look at lady justice there are two sides, she has a sword in one hand and she's blind. Lady Justice is blind because she can't favor one side. 2. The article affected the way I looked at the death penalty because I didn't really care about it before, but now that I read I think that before people are put on death row, they should be 100% they committed the given crime. I also believe that they should limit the kind of crimes that people are sent to be given the death penalty for.

  28. 1. As heartless as it may seem, I do believe in the death penalty because if we remove the death penalty only because some people were proven innocent, you let go the murders who actually committed the crime. If they aren't sent to death, they might get a life time in prison without parole, what kind of life would that be for the person? I personally believe it would be better for the person if he was given the fast way out and not spend his/her whole life or a big portion of his or her life in jail.
    2. The article does make me think about my opinion of the death penalty, because like the article said there are some innocent people on death row and I find that hard to take. Although, if the death penalty stops and the guilty murders are sent free, than what if they kill more innocent people themselves? People should be stop if the comment a horrible crime, they shouldn't be able to do that again.

  29. 1. I think that death penalty is wrong. People are put in the death penalty when they're innocent, and it's not the right thing to do. Taking one's life away when they did nothing wrong. You would never be sure that the person you are assuming of committing the crime and they are dying for it. That is not fair at all.

2)This article made me think that yes a lot of people do get the option of death penalty but it is for a reason so I do believe on the death penalty, it doesn't make me feel bad because not everyone is innocent and they have done crimes so it changed my opinion on it.

  54. 1. I don't believe in the death penalty because you can be an innocent person and get killed. I honestly think just leaving the inmates in jail for life is way better than the death penalty because if you put it this way leaving them in jail for life is like the death penalty. Also it's like your killing a person someone who has a family they should have the right to live instead of being killed. Even though they did something bad they are still getting punished in jail.

    2. After reading this article it changed my point of view on the death penalty because some people that are put on the death penalty are innocent. Also because I think it's wrong to know that your gonna die today and you never know what they are gonna kill you with and you could just be their suffering and dying slowly.

  55. 1. I disagree with the death penalty because I don't believe that it's the best punishment. Some people can be wrongly convicted and lose their life from something they didn't do.
    2. This statement didn't really affected my view of the death penalty. My view of the death penalty is that people who commit crimes mustn't die by the death penalty, but spin their life in prison for life. For the wrongly convicted people, they shouldn't die for the crimes not committed by them.

I do believe in the death penalty because if someone did s serious crime or a danger to society i think they should pay the price for it. I also do believe it is unfair for the people who were wrongly convicted and have to pay the price for something they had no part of.

How does this article affect your view of the death penalty?
At first i thought the death penalty was a good idea all the way but know i am actually considering about the people that die because of this and were actually innocent. Before i didn't even think of the people that die because they were wrongly convicted but now it more of a concern for me.

  97. 1). I believe in the death penalty only in some cases. I believe that if someone has done something really horrible then they should suffer a painful and slow death instead of a quick shot. Since we don't want these people to be out in the streets we keep them in jail. However, the people who pay taxes are the ones providing shelter to these criminals who are in jail. I also don't think that it is right to kill someone because they killed someone. I understand the concept of revenge but I don't think it applies in this situation.
